[NEWS RELEASE] TAMPA,FL.—November 2, 2007. The theme for the upcoming 2008 Florida State Fair is set…It’s Showtime, Baby! Clearly, this year’s Fair is fit for a King…which one, will be decided this Thursday, November 8 in Largo, between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., at an OPEN photo shoot. CALLING ALL ELVIS IMPERSONATORS! ONE DAY ONLY! Celebrating their 104th year in 2008, the Florida State Fair will hold OPEN AUDITIONS at the Largo Cultural Center, located at 105 Central Park Drive, in Largo for this year’s advertising campaign. All Elvis impersonators are welcome. There is no entry fee, and no singing required…just show up in costume and show us your moves and Elvis poses on camera. The winner will receive a cash prize and may be featured in the advertising campaign to include billboards, posters and other advertising material. The new King will be invited to make a special appearance at the 2008 Fair. It’s sure to be a hunka, hunka, burnin’ fun! “Elvis will be a prominent part of this year’s Fair which includes a star-studded Las Vegas-Style Revue and the Elvis Extravaganza Impersonator Contest National Finals,” said Vince Caruso, Marketing Director for the Florida State Fair Authority. “This is the first time in the history of the Fair that we have produced shows of this magnitude and we wanted to give folks in the Tampa Bay area an opportunity to participate in this truly spectacular event,” added Caruso. The annual Florida State Fair will take place February 7-18, 2008. The Florida State Fair – always in Tampa and always in February – is organized by the Florida State Fair Authority under the leadership of Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Agriculture Commissioner, Charles H. Bronson, leads the Authority, which oversees the Florida State Fairgrounds and the annual Florida State Fair. ###
