It’s Showtime, Baby! The road to Vegas Could Start in Tampa.  CASTING CALL DEC. 15- Vegas Show Seeking Dancers and Celebrity Impersonators!

[NEWS RELEASE] TAMPA,FL.—December 10, 2007.  Local dancers and celebrity impersonators will have a chance to showcase their talents for a nationally renowned entertainment company. A lucky few of them could be selected to perform on stage at the upcoming 2008 Florida State Fair.

Four Star Entertainment, Inc., whose clients include The Tropicana Casino, Lady Luck Casino and Six Flags Amusement Parks will be holding open auditions for Glitz! A Las Vegas Revue which will be a headline act at the 2008 Florida State Fair.  Auditions will be held at the Ford Amphitheatre on Saturday, December 15, 2007.  Performers should use the Orient Road entrance to the Florida State Fairgrounds.

Registration for dancers starts at 10 a.m. with auditions at 11 a.m.  Four Star Entertainment is looking for Las Vegas Showgirl style dancers who are comfortable performing in theater heels. They would preferably be trained in jazz and tap and at least 5’6”, although that is not a requirement.

Registration for legit celebrity impersonators begins at 2 p.m. with auditions starting at 3 p.m.  Impersonators should have two background selections prepared on CD and tracks should not have lead vocals.  Singing is required…sorry, no lip synching!  Costume and make-up is optional but is a definite plus if it helps sell the act.

Bill Haggett, president and CEO of Four Star Entertainment, says the open auditions often jumpstart the careers of undiscovered or up-and-coming talent.  He adds that it is a huge opportunity for someone looking to break into the entertainment industry. And the Florida State Fair could be just their first big show. State fair officials expect more than 500,000 attendees at the 2008 Florida State Fair.

“We are really excited about holding open auditions in the Tampa area because, by reputation alone, we know it is a hotbed for quality dancers and performers,” Haggett said.   “We have been producing shows like this for over 20-years and I have personally seen many talented performers end up working in some of the hottest Las Vegas revues and the biggest shows on Broadway.”

Glitz! A Las Vegas Revue will run February 7 – 13, 2008 at the Florida State Fair with rehearsals starting the second week of January.  Contract amounts will be based on talent and experience and anyone appearing in the show likely will be working side-by-side with performers from places such as Las Vegas and New York.  For more information regarding the show or auditions, call Bill Haggett at (239) 945-0140.

The 104th annual Florida State Fair (www.floridastatefair.com), always in Tampa and always in February, runs February 7 -18, 2008.  It is organized by the Florida State Fair Authority under the leadership of Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.  Agriculture Commissioner, Charles H. Bronson, leads the Fair Authority, which oversees the Florida State Fairgrounds and the annual Florida State Fair.
