[NEWS RELEASE] TAMPA, FL. — December 20, 2007.  The Fairgrounds are busy with the planning efforts of the 104th annual Florida State Fair well under way. There is one thing missing in the midst of all the planning...you! The Florida State Fair Authority is now preparing to hire the workforce it needs to help make the State Fair the spectacular event it’s known for.

The Florida State Fair Authority recruits approximately 350 people for the Fair which runs from Thursday, February 7 through Monday, February 18, 2008.  The Florida State Fair Authority would like to fill all 350 openings with candidates from the Tampa Bay area.

Some of the available openings include ticket takers, ticket sellers, guest relations staff, and trolley drivers; just to name a few.  Anyone over 18 years of age that is interested in applying can stop by the Employment Office conveniently located outside the Orient Road security gate off of Orient Road at the Florida State Fairgrounds.

Beginning Monday, January 7, 2008, the employment office hours of operations are: 
• Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (including MLK holiday)
• Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• Saturday, January 12th from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (closed all other Saturdays)

In February 2008, the hours of operations are:
• Friday, February 1st from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The 104th annual Florida State Fair (www.floridastatefair.com), always in Tampa and always in February, is organized by the Florida State Fair Authority under the leadership of Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.  Agriculture Commissioner, Charles H. Bronson, leads the Fair Authority, which oversees the Florida State Fairgrounds and the annual Florida State Fair.
