[NEWS RELEASE] TAMPA, FL. — February 12, 2008. Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) will be one of the main events at this year’s Florida State Fair. For one night only, the FCW suits up some of the biggest stars of today and tomorrow on Friday, February 15 for 9 matches, including a Battle Royale, the Florida Heavyweight title match and a ladies wrestling “diva delight” competition. One of the featured wrestling matches will include WWE Tag-Team Champions -- John "The Lizard King" Morrision and Mike “The Miz” Mizanin against Ted DiBiase, Jr. and “Handsome" Heath Miller. A special appearance by "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes is also scheduled. Fairgoers will want to come early for autograph signings at 5 p.m. and a chance to meet their favorite wrestling stars. The FCW event will be held in the Sweetbay Entertainment Hall with matches starting at 6 and 8 p.m. Admission to all wrestling events is free with a gate admission ticket to the Florida State Fair. Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) has been in existence for over four decades. Based in Tampa, and located at 4535 South Dale Mabry Highway, the FCW is officially sanctioned and organized by the WWE (NYSE:WWE), and serves as the proving grounds for future WWE Wrestling Superstars. The current talent wrestling will soon join the ranks of previous developmental talents like John Cena and Dave Batista. FCW is managed by Florida wrestling legend Steve Keirn. Wrestling, promoting and entertaining Floridians for nearly a half century; Steve Keirn and his family ties to the sunshine state run deep. “We’re excited to bring world-class wrestling entertainment to the Fair and affording our fans a chance to see some future stars of wrestling so early in their careers,” said Keirn.
All acts, concerts, scheduled times, exhibitors, prices, and other advertised events are subject to change and/or cancel without notice. Fair gate admission is $10 for ages 12 and older, $5 for children ages six to 11; and free for kids five and younger. NO RE-ENTRY is permitted without an admission ticket. Gates open daily at 9 a.m. and parking is free during the 12 days of the Fair.
