[NEWS RELEASE] TAMPA, FL. — January 20, 2008.  The Florida State Fair, Verizon and Centro Asturiano of Tampa presents the 1st annual "Dancing to be a Star"/ “Bailando para ser una Estrella” Swing & Salsa Dance Showdown.  The dance competition is just one of the highlights of festivities for the Florida State Fair’s inaugural year of the new LA PLAZA Hispanic Village area.
 
Couples are invited to register to participate in the dance competition to win more than $2500 dollars in prizes.  The “Swing” preliminary rounds will be held during the Florida State Fair on Thursday, February 7 at 8 p.m. and the “Salsa” preliminary rounds will be held on Sunday, February 10 at 6 p.m.  Both events will take place in the Bud Light Latin Dome at LA PLAZA Hispanic Village.  Couples will compete in front of an audience with judges selecting the top contestants each night to come back on Sunday, February 17 for the Dance Finals.  A live audience will get to choose the winning couple of the Swing & Salsa Dance Showdown on Sunday, February 17 at 5 p.m. inside the Special Events Center building.

This is your opportunity to Dance to be a Star!  Event rules and entry form are available online at http://www.bailandoparaserunaestrella.com.  Enter now online to be eligible to win more than $2500 dollars in prizes or bring the entry form and registration fee in person to the orientation meeting.  The last day to register is at the mandatory competitor orientation meeting held on Monday, February 4 at 7 p.m. in the Centro Asturiano of Tampa building located at 1913 North Nebraska Ave., Tampa, FL 33602.

The 104th annual Florida State Fair will take place on February 7-18, 2008.  The Florida State Fair – always in Tampa and always in February – is organized by the Florida State Fair Authority under the leadership of Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.  Agriculture Commissioner Charles H. Bronson leads the Fair Authority, which oversees the Florida State Fairgrounds and the annual Florida State Fair.

La Feria Estatal de Florida, Verizon y el Centro Asturiano de Tampa presentan el concurso “Bailando para ser una estrella”

Tampa, FL. - 20 de enero de 2008.  La Feria Estatal de Florida, Verizon y el Centro Asturiano de Tampa invitan a las parejas a inscribirse en el gran concurso “Bailando para ser una estrella” donde las parejas podrán competir por mas de $2500 dólares en premios. Se escogerán los ganadores en las categorías de “salsa” y “swing”. Las rondas preliminares se llevarán a cabo los días 7 y 10 de febrero en el Bud Light Latin Dome para celebrar el año inaugural de la nueva área llamada “LA PLAZA” de la Feria Estatal de la Florida y la gran final será el 17 de febrero a las 5 P.M. en el edificio conocido como Special Events Center en la Feria Estatal de la Florida. 

¡Es tu oportunidad de alcanzar las estrellas bailando! La fecha límite para inscribirse es el domingo 3 de febrero.  Para incorporar la competición, llene una forma de registro con el honorario de la entrada y tráigala a la orientación obligatoria del competidor ocurrirá el 3 de febrero a las 6:00 p.m. en Centro Asturiano de Tampa (dirección 1913 North Nebraska Ave. Tampa, FL. 33602).
