Christmas In The Country
Bring the family for a great day experiencing the sights, sounds and smells of an old fashion country Christmas. Learn how the holiday traditions of the 19th century differ from those of the 21st through hands-on historical interpretations, carols, traditional decorations and more!
During Christmas in the Country, guests can create holiday keepsakes like salt dough ornaments, beeswax candles, sachets and cornucopias, and help with the everyday chores like churning butter and cleaning laundry with an old-fashioned washboard. Christmas in the Country also features an exhibit of Victorian holiday cards, which became popular in America in the late 1800s.
Don’t forget to stop and shop in the General Store. Proceeds from our gift shop help support our educational field trip programs.
