Cracker Country Homeschool Day

The theme of the event is “Growing Gardeners”.  Young learners will explore a kitchen garden filled with plants that thrive in Florida’s winter growing season, learn about the state’s iconic citrus industry and take home ingredients to start a garden of their own.

Educators in historic dress will be on hand to welcome guests to the 1885 Carlton House, a railroad depot, general store, church, one-room schoolhouse and more authentic structures that would have been familiar to a child growing up in a Florida farming and ranching community over 100 years ago.
