Cracker Country Homeschool Day: Music & Art

Event Details

Description

Designed specifically for homeschool groups & families

Experience Florida’s vibrant music and art history at Cracker Country! Explore the museum’s historic buildings and chat with our friendly staff as you step back into the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Homeschoolers can dive into hands-on activities that bring this era’s art and music to life. Enjoy live demonstrations featuring the dulcimer, pump organ, and conga drum, craft your own musical instrument, and try your hand at everyday chores like churning butter or washing laundry on a washboard. You’ll also get to paint with watercolor, learn about influential Florida artists from the late 1800s, and complete an art-themed scavenger hunt. It’s an immersive, creative, and unforgettable way to experience Florida’s past!
