Fair Hosts Fair-Tastic Food Contest

FLORIDA STATE FAIR HOSTS FAIR-TASTIC FOOD CONTEST WITH LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL CULINARY STUDENTS

 

WHAT:                                    The Florida State Fair – always in Tampa, always in February – hosts its annual Fair-tastic Food Contest with local high school culinary students. Students create the next crazy fair food for an opportunity to showcase their recipe during the Florida State Fair in the Demonstration Kitchen, featured at the 2020 Florida State Fair held February 6-17, plus up to $75 in prize money, tickets and ride armbands for the Fair. The winning recipes will also be included in a digital Florida State Fair Cookbook, to be posted online after the fair concludes.

The Fair-tastic Food Contest is supported by The Ryan Wells Foundation, whose mission is to improve the culinary arts and hospitality education of Pinellas County students through scholarships for post-secondary education & support of culinary programs.

 

Finalists from Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, and Manatee counties are participating in the judged event on Saturday, January 11 for their chance to be named winners of Best of Show Sweet and Best of Show Savory categories.

Students will be assigned time slots.
