PCHA is a non-profit organization established in 1948 and is celebrating our 77th year. We became a 501(c)(3) in 2017 allowing donations to be tax-deductible. We offer six Hunter/Jumper non-rated shows each year, located at the Bob Thomas Equestrian Center at the Florida State Fairgrounds. Our governing body is a 14 person board, which meets every 3rd Monday after the PCHA horse shows. All members are welcome to attend the meetings.
Our mission and purpose is to create, stimulate and maintain interest in horseback riding in Pinellas and surrounding counties, to obtain the best possible facilities therefore; to work together for the common advantage of all who ride hunters and jumpers and to promote the showing of horses and the development of good sportsmanship. This includes the following:
- Annual Banquet (which PCHA subsidizes), providing a formal evening of awards, music and dancing.
- Visiting speakers such as a Horse Show Judges.
- Rider Incentive Program –providing Scholarship Assistance for successful equestrians.
- Special events that provide charitable donations for equine rescues.
- Spring Hunter Style Derby
- Fall Hunter Classic and Short Stirrup/Long Stirrup Derby
- Halloween Festivities
- Your Board tries to make every show special in some way.
